Frequently Asked Questions
What is an insurance inspection and why are they needed?
When a property/casualty insurance company underwrites a homeowner policy they will often require a brief home inspection to determine the replacement cost of the home and to identify any adverse conditions that may require attention.  The Insurance Inspector typically determines Gross Living Area (GLA) and provides information on the various components, systems and conditions of the home.  The insurance inspector does NOT provide the replacement cost value, this is determined by Pro-Teck using the information provided by the inspector.  There are various inspection forms, some requiring an interior inspection, some exterior only.  Typically, it is a brief 15-20 minute inspection that includes measuring and diagramming the exterior perimeter of the home and completing a checklist while performing a brief walk around / walk through of the property.
How much money can I expect to make?
Inspectors typically average $30 / hour or $240 / day.
